Tiscali Offers Mid-Range Broadband Service

Britain's increasingly competitive broadband market now has a mid-range offering from Internet service provider Tiscali. Tiscali says it will offer Internet access at 256 kbps
for £20 per month.

Teledesic Officially Dead

Teledesic's board has halted work by a contractor building two satellites for the constellation envisioned by Craig McCaw. Twenty-five employees will be let go and 10-12 will stay on to evaluate "possible alternative approaches."
